April 2007
12th April 2007 - 3rd Annual Old Firm Charity Match 2007
Date: Sunday 1st July 2007, 12.15 for a 12.45 start
Venue: Whitehills Farm
Celtic Captains: Mark O’Brien and Chris Main
Rangers Captains: Stuart Robertson and Davie McKinnon
That time of year is with us again guys, the football season is coming to an end and the Charity Match has been arranged. We will once again be playing at the Whitehills Farm, and the game will take place on Sunday the 1st of July. We will be holding a raffle on the day, so any donations gratefully received guys.
We have more time to organise the match this year, so we should be able to top last years total and raise even more for good causes. We have changed the finances of the event this year so that we will have money in the pot before the match takes place through the £10 a head entry fee. We will also give out sponsor forms nearer the time. And for your £10 entry fee I can personally guarantee an afternoon of fun, laughs, competition and possibly even pool!
This event was originally organised to raise funds for a charity which was close to my heart at that particular time, and it meant a lot to me to be able to help raise money for that charity. Please contact your captains with any suggestions for designated charities of choice, especially if any particular charity is close to your heart for whatever reason at this time. So far we have raised money for the British Heart Foundation, The Beatson Institute, The Neurofibramatosis Association and the Rangers Charity Foundation. Your charity could be the next on this list.
Rules
The Match
- Each team should have 20 players
- The match will be played as 20 singles, 10 scotch doubles and 10 regular doubles

The Finances
- Each player must pay a £10 entry fee to confirm their place, this payment should be made to their team captain no later than 2 weeks before the event

- The split of the final pot shall be decided between the respective captains and the event organiser prior to the event
